What happens when 30 Swiss and Korean strangers gathered to make kimchi together? On Saturday, July 26, something special unfolded at the Gedenkstätte Riehen in Basel. Thirty people who are curious about Korean food, came together and left not just with jars of homemade kimchi, but also with warm hearts and new friendships.
Our Jeolla-style Kimchi Workshop filled up quickly, with a waitlist longer than expected. But what we created that day wasn’t just kimchi. It was something far more meaningful.

Friends of Korea had the honor of attending a special gathering hosted by the Embassy of Korea in Switzerland at the Sternen Muri Hotel in Bern. This event brought together various Korean associations, including Hallyu Korea, along with students and young professionals from Lausanne and Zurich, to celebrate cultural exchange and strengthen community ties.
