Friends of Korea Officially Introduced at Korean National Day Celebration in Bern

The Korean Embassy in Switzerland hosted a wonderful gathering in Bern ahead of Korea’s National Day, bringing together guests from across the country. The evening began with a beautiful opera performance and a warm welcome from Ambassador Keum Chang-rok, followed by a banquet featuring Korean cuisine and Swiss raclette, prepared by the embassy’s chefs.

It was also a special moment for Friends of Korea, as we had the opportunity to share our newly founded cultural association with many like-minded people. Friends of Korea aims to strengthen ties between Korea and Switzerland through cultural exchange, professional connections, and meaningful conversations. Meeting new friends who share an interest in Korea made the evening even more memorable.

The event also celebrated 개천절 (Gaecheonjeol), Korea’s National Foundation Day, which marks the legendary founding of Korea in 2333 BCE—a fitting occasion to connect and build bridges between cultures.
